Windows XP optimization tips Daquan

1. Display all components in [Add/Remove Windows Components]
Windows built-in components can be deleted by [Add/Remove Programs] →[Add/Remove Windows Components], but some System components are not visible. To remove these hidden components (including Terminal Server, WMI, etc.), you can do this: Open C:WINDOWSinfsysoc.inf, find all "hide" strings, replace them all with null, save (make a backup before saving) . Then open [Add/Remove Windows Components] and delete it as much as you can!
In addition, [Add/Remove Windows Components] can be opened directly from the following command line:

sysocmgr /i:C:Windowsinfsysoc.inf 2. Change the port number of the remote desktop
This one is not Test, students who need it, please use it with caution.
Server: Open HKLMSYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlTerminal ServerWinStationsRDP-Tcp, modify the PortNumber, and restart the computer.
Client: Enter <server IP address>:<port number> at the IP address when connecting.

3. Completely delete “shared documents”folders
“<;My Computer” Shared Documents” Folders are a ribbed feature, but they are not allowed to be deleted. Waste the screen space. Modify the registry can be completely deleted: HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerMyComputerNameSpaceDelegateFolders{59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee} Press F2 to modify the key name, add a ; Then open my computer and <;share the document"
In fact, the deletion is the same, but it is safer and can be changed back when needed.

4. Forbidding compressed folders
Although this technique has been written, I would like to write it again:

XP's bubble tips are really intimate (such as bubble tips when removing USB devices), but for those familiar with all the features of Windows, bubbles are only annoying. Can be closed in the following way:
Open HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvanced, create a DWORD value: EnableBalloonTips, the value remains 0. Then log out and log back in.

6. Changing the thumbnail size
Edit the following two key values ​​to modify the size and image quality of the Explorer thumbnail. Open HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorer and create two DWORD values: ThumbnailSize, ranging from 32 to 256 (default value 96), indicating the thumbnail size. ThumbnailQuality, a range of 50 to 100 (default 90), indicates the quality of the thumbnail. Open my computer after it is built up to see the effect immediately, no need to restart.
Generally speaking, these two options are not used. The default size of 96 is just right. The default quality of 90 is also high enough. If you set it to a higher value, you can't see any change. So these two options are purely fun.

7. Create special folders on the desktop that you can't delete.
I often put some downloaded temporary files on the desktop, or create a text file to take notes. Over time, the desktop is messy. So these files are organized into a folder, but this folder is easily deleted by mistake when tidying up the desktop. This technique comes in handy, and it creates a special folder that cannot be deleted.
Because the specific operation steps are more complicated, I will not describe it anymore. Please download the attached My Folder.reg file, import it, and then create the folder “My Folder” in the root directory of the C drive.
8. Quickly open Network Neighborhood
Every time you open Network Neighborhood, Windows always has to find resources on the Internet, causing the system to die for a long time. Open HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvanced, create a DWORD value NoNetCrawling, set the value to 1, and then log back in to Windows. This way, the network neighbors can be opened much faster.

9. Disable the desktop cleanup wizard
Another chicken rib. Open HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer, set the DWORD value NoDesktopCleanupWizard and set it to 1 to disable it.
