10 years old Windows XP still has 1/3 of the computers in use

The Windows family currently holds 80% of the global operating system market share, and its Win 7 and Win XP are one or two operating systems. Vista, which should have replaced XP, has not completed the task of eliminating XP, but has been suppressed to only 5% of users. The world's largest WEB technology resource library According to a recent data from W3Schools, XP launched in August 2001 still has a 32.8% market share.

Microsoft launched the highly anticipated Win 7 system in 2009, but most users will not upgrade the operating system on existing computers, so until November 10, XP installed capacity still accounts for 47% of all operating systems. As the new computers of the same period are pre-installed with Win 7, the share of XP has gradually declined, and the share of Win 7 has increased from 28.5% to 45.5%. Of the other Microsoft operating systems, only 5.5% of computers are running short-lived Vista systems. Surprisingly, the older Windows 2003 still has 0.7% of users, and 98 and 2000 are not shown in the chart. The market share of the operating system, I think this should be good news, because these two operating systems are really too backward.

Less than 20% of the operating system market is divided by several other systems. The market share of the Linux operating system has been steadily maintained at 5%, and the installed capacity of the Apple operating system Mac OS has increased slightly. In November 2010, 7.7% rose to 8.8% this year. But this data is in conflict with another data, because according to information released by US investment bank Niddam last month, Apple's Mac system market share should only account for 5.2% of the global PC market.

Microsoft announced in April 2009 that it would stop mainstream support for XP, but it extended the extended support for XP SP3 and 64-bit XP SP2 to April 2014. Although XP has gone through a brilliant decade, it is outdated compared to other systems. Next year, Microsoft will launch the win 8 system. According to the development trend of the operating system, XP's market share will further decline. So by 2014, it would be difficult for us to see a personal computer with an XP system installed.
