Setting up Remote Desktop Connection in Windows XP

With Remote Desktop Connection, users can connect computers from other locations to the desktop of the local computer, execute programs on the local computer or It is very convenient and practical to use a local computer to connect to a computer desktop in another location and execute programs on other computers.
12.7.1 Setting up a remote desktop connection
To set up a remote desktop connection, the user must first establish a connection with the Internet or set up a terminal server on the local area network.
Before making a remote desktop connection, users need to make some settings for the remote desktop connection, as follows: (1) Click the “Start” button to select “All Programs” & “Orders”. ∣"Communication"""Remote Desktop Connection” command. (2) Open the "Remote Desktop Connection" dialog box, as shown in Figure 12.31.
(3) Click the “Options" button to expand the dialog box.
(4) Select the “General” tab, as shown in Figure 12.32.

Note: The remote desktop that the author chooses to log in uses the Windows 2000 server operating system. The remote desktop that the user logs in may vary depending on the operating system used by the other party. The user's use of the program in the remote desktop does not affect the normal operation of the computer.
12.7.2 Setting the Display Mode of Remote Desktop Connection
By default, the remote desktop connection is displayed in full screen mode. Users can change their display size to display it at 800*600 pixels or 640*480. Pixel display, you can also change the color display mode of the remote desktop, its operation is as follows:
(1) Click the "Start” button, select “All Programs"∣";Accessories>;∣“Communication&rdquo ;∣“Remote Desktop Connection” command, open the "Remote Desktop Connection" dialog box.

(3) Select the “Display” tab as shown in Figure 12.35.

Drag the slider to the far right to display it in full screen; drag the slider to the middle to display it at 800*600 pixels; drag the slider to the far left to display it at 640*480 pixels.
