        In addition to the system restore function, System File Checker (Sfc.exe) can be regarded as the most original Windows system restore tool. Windows XP's System File Checker scans all protected system files to verify their version, as well as setting the file cache size, clearing the file cache, and repopulating the "%SystemRoot%\\System32\\Dllcache" folder. To enable the System File Checker in Windows XP, first run the Command Prompt: Click Start → All Programs → Accessories → Command Prompt, or click the Start → Run command on the command line. Type "cmd" and press Enter. Then type "Sfc" at the cursor prompt in the Command Prompt window and press Enter. For example, if we type "Sfc/SCANNOW", press the Enter key, the "System File Checker" will start to check whether the current system file is damaged, the version is correct, if you find an error, the program will ask you to insert Windows XP installation. If the Dllcache folder is corrupted or unavailable, you can also use the "Sfc/scanonce" or "Sfc/scanboot" command to fix the contents of the folder to ensure the security and stability of the system.
