In Windows XP, when we put a disc into the CD-ROM, connect a USB flash drive or a digital camera or MP3 to a USB device, we usually see an auto-run dialog (Figure 1). This is a fairly considerate feature of Windows XP that can be applied to most devices with removable storage capabilities. When we connect such devices to a computer, the system searches for files in the device and then displays the file-related options. For example, if you put a CD-ROM into a CD-ROM, the Auto-Run dialog box will have the option to call Windows Media Player to play songs and rip songs from an audio CD. If we connect to a computer, it is a digital camera or MP3 player. What appears is the option to view, copy, print photos or play mp3. Since Windows XP is so smart, why not make it smarter? When a CD is inserted, the music is automatically played, and when the DVD is placed, the DVD is automatically played in full screen. Since Windows XP has enabled the autoplay function of the optical drive and portable storage device by default, this provides us with the convenience of implementing such a function. CD article click the right mouse button on the CD-ROM drive letter, select "Properties", switch to the "Auto-play" tab, select "Music CD" in the drop-down menu, and then select the "Select an action to execute" radio box below, and In the optional operation list, select "Play audio CD, use Windows Media Player" (hereinafter referred to as WMP). After such setting, the system will automatically start WMP to play CD when CD audio CD is inserted into the CD-ROM (such as figure 2). Similarly, if you need to copy the music from the CD to the hard disk, select “Rip music from CD, use WMP” in the list. When you put the CD, you will automatically grab the CD track to the hard disk. . In order to ensure the effect, it is best to make some settings in the WMP options dialog box, such as file save location, file format, file rate, and so on. Tip: If you have more than one CD-ROM drive, you need to set it for the CD-ROM drive. In addition, if you need to automatically save the music on the CD as a wma file, please make sure that the “Copy protection for music” item under the “Rip Music” tab in the WMP Options dialog box is not selected, so that the obtained wma music cannot be played. DVD articles There are many players that can play DVDs. The WMP that comes with the system can be used, but these players are not as good as the professional PowerDVD in the performance of the screen, so PowerDVD is still favored by many friends. When we put a DVD into the CD-ROM, the system automatically opens the PowerDVD full-screen video, which is so pleasant. Open the "AutoPlay" tab of the DVD drive as described above, first select "DVD Movie" from the drop-down menu, then select the "Select an action to execute" option, and select "Play DVD Video" in the list of optional actions. , use PowerDVD" option. Although PowerDVD itself has the function of detecting DVDs, since WMP can also play DVDs and has WMP related options in the "AutoPlay" tab of the CD-ROM, set this up to avoid the two players "grabbing" Play". To automatically play the disc in full screen, you also need to set it in the relevant options of PowerDVD. Click the right mouse button in the Play window of PowerDVD, select "Configuration", select the "Video" tab in the pop-up dialog box, and select "Show full screen during playback" in "Screen Control" (Figure 3), save the settings. After that, you can sit down and enjoy the movie. Due to the different versions of PowerDVD used or other reasons, the "AutoPlay" tab of the CD-ROM does not have PowerDVD related options, you can use Microsoft's system settings tool TweakUI to add. In the list on the left side of TweakUI, navigate to "My Computer/AutoPlay/Processing Program", click the "Create" button on the right, and follow the prompts in the pop-up dialog box to replace the "<Description>" text with "Play DVD". Video", replace "<program name>" with "PowerDVD", then click the "Change Program" button to select the PowerDVD program file, and then select "DVD Disc" in "Supported Media" (Figure 4) , the setting will take effect after clicking the "OK" button twice. In fact, the auto-play function of the CD-ROM has applications in many aspects, especially after using TweakUI, it can add a lot of auto-executing functions to the CD-ROM. I would like to use this article to introduce jade, and interested readers can study it for themselves.
