Two ways to search for hidden files under WinXP

        For security reasons, by default Windows XP does not search for hidden files and folders (even if "Show all files and folders" is set), but we can achieve the following two ways.

1.Direct setting

First open the "Explorer", click the "Search" button on the toolbar, click "Change the first" in the "Search Assistant" column
on the left "Options", the system will ask you: "How do you want to use the search assistant?", click on the "change file and folder search behavior" in the middle, and then select "default file and folder search behavior" to determine "advanced" See the "More advanced options" item, click on it will pop up a lot of advanced options, well, still hesitate, quickly check "search for hidden files and folders", if you need other options (such as " Case-sensitive ") can also be selected together.

2. modify the registry law

If you think the above settings are too cumbersome, can be achieved by modifying the registry approach. Open the "Registry Editor" and navigate to the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer" branch. In the right window, find the DWord value "SearchHidden" and set its value to "1".
