Win XP Tips: Automatically Close Script Error Message

When browsing the web, you may have encountered Internet Explorer pop up a dialog box telling you that the script on the web page is in error and needs to continue running. The details of the error script are also included in the message.

This information is useful for web developers, but for most users, the error message for this script is completely useless. We can turn off script debugging in the Options dialog of Internet Explorer. Click on the "Tools" menu in Internet Explorer, then select "Internet Options" in the pop-up dialog box, click on the "Advanced" tab (as shown in Figure 1).

Check the "Prohibit Script Debugging" option in the advanced options and ensure that there is no check before "Show notification of each script error". In this way, when there is a script error in the webpage, a dialog box that does not make any sense to the ordinary user will not pop up anymore.
