Please release the expired software out of the hard disk in time

Computer fans who often download all kinds of latest software and try it out must have encountered such a kind of sharing software: they have a certain trial period - from the day when the software is installed, the accumulated trial period is full, you will It is also impossible to continue to use all the features of the software, unless the payment is registered before continuing to use. For those who just use the software for the purpose of installing "early adopters", once the software expires and cannot be used, they will naturally choose to uninstall the software. However, due to the installed software of this kind, we often forget to put out some "expired software" out of the hard disk in time, and uninstalling them one by one is not an easy task. If there is a helper to help us automatically manage these "expired software" and let them "retire" on time, don't just take up valuable hard drive resources.

In fact, the system tool that comes with Windows - "task plan" is a good choice to solve this problem.

Figure 1 Task Plan Wizard

Here is Windows 2000 as an example: We first select and click "Programs → Accessories → System Tools → Task Schedule" through the "Start" menu. In the window that pops up, we double-click "Add Task Schedule" to start the "Task Schedule Wizard". Then click "Next" according to the prompt of the wizard, Windows will automatically search for various executable programs in the system, and list the application names and their versions (Figure 1). We find the uninstaller that comes with the target software in the list and select it (if the uninstaller of the software is not listed in the list, you can click the "Browse" button to locate), and then click "Next", you can appear later. In the interface, set the name for the scheduled task and specify the period (including daily, weekly, monthly, and one-time) for performing the task. Here we can select the “one-time” option. After clicking "Next", we can set the "start time" and "start date" for the uninstaller to run automatically. Here, we can estimate when the software is "expired" according to the trial period mentioned in the installation agreement when installing the target software, and then set this date to the "start date" column. As for the "start" Time can be arbitrarily set according to their own needs, the specific moment of automatic operation on the day. In addition, the date and time set here is best to ensure that you will use the computer, because the scheduled tasks can not be advanced to be able to execute without booting. After setting, click “Next”, the wizard will prompt you to enter the user name and password to perform the task (that is, specify which account to perform the scheduled task when logging in to Windows2000, which is generally the current user). When you have entered your username and password correctly, you can continue to click "Next" and the wizard will prompt you to click "Finish" to add the task to your Windows plan. You can also check "Open the advanced properties of this task when you click Finish" and then make some more detailed and considerate settings for the task (Figure 2).

Well, after you have established such a scheduled task in the system, you don't have to worry about the shared software that has expired to continue to "occupy" the hard drive. Once you have set the task auto-execution time, the system will immediately start the uninstall program that comes with the "expired software" and clean it out of the hard disk.
