Windows XP shutdown and automatic restart solution

Because Windows XP system adopts NT core with high security performance, the system runs fairly stable. In addition to the slow shutdown speed, shutdown faults rarely occur under normal circumstances. But sometimes when you shut down Windows XP, it is inexplicably and automatically restarted. This fault may be the most likely to occur in the Windows XP operating system shutdown failure.

The cause and solution for this fault are as follows:

1. System error causes automatic restart

Windows XP system by default, when the system has an error, it will automatically Restart, so that when the user shuts down, if the system has an error during the shutdown process, the computer will restart automatically. If this feature is turned off, there will be no automatic restart failure.

The specific method is as follows:

Right click on "My Computer" on the desktop, select "Properties" in the pop-up context menu, pop up the "System Properties" window, click "Advanced" Tab, click the “Settings” button in the “Startup and Recovery” section, and the “Startup and Recovery” window will pop up. In the "System Failure" section, remove the checkmark before the "Automatically Restart" option and click the "OK" button.

2. USB Device Problems

Today's various USB devices are very popular, such as: U disk, mouse, keyboard, stereo, mobile hard disk, etc., countless. But often these USB devices cause shutdown failures. When your computer shuts down and restarts, if you still have a USB device attached to your computer, immediately unplug it and try again. If you find that the USB device is faulty, then it is best not to connect the device to the computer. If you can't avoid using a USB device, you can connect an external USB hub and connect all USB devices to the USB Hub. Instead of connecting directly to the USB port of the computer motherboard. This problem naturally disappears.

3. Advanced Power Management

It is well known that shutdown is closely related to power management. The cause of shutdown failure is probably caused by poor power management. If this is the case, you can try the following methods:

Click "Start → Settings → Control Panel → Performance and Maintenance → Power Options", in the pop-up window, enable or disable "Advanced Power Support" as needed. "Yes. If you are using "Advanced Power Support" when the failure occurs, try to cancel it. Conversely, if the computer is using "Advanced Power Support" when the failure occurs, then you try to enable it. It is often easy to rule out.

The above three methods are all summed up in the daily work. When you really encounter a similar situation, it is best to first check the problem and then solve it. If you have any other situation or a good way to solve the problem, welcome everyone to discuss it.
