Add Remote Desktop to the System
By default, Windows 2000 and its previous systems do not have Remote Desktop installed. To use Remote Desktop on these systems, you need to add it manually.
In the "SUPPORTTOOLS" directory of the Windows XP system installation CD, you can find a program called "Msrdpcli.exe", which is actually the Remote Desktop Connection Logger. Once you copy this program to a system that does not have a remote desktop and run it, you can automatically install the Remote Desktop Connector on your system. The installation process is very simple. Click “Next” continuously. When the installation is complete, click “Start → Programs → Accessories → Communication → Remote Desktop Connection” to log in to the network to connect to the remote computer.
Let the remote desktop support multiple users
Windows XP does not support multiple users to log in to the remote desktop at the same time. When other users log in to Windows XP remotely, the currently logged-in user on the host will automatically log out. . However, in Windows XP SP2, the function of allowing connection session concurrency is provided. Multi-user simultaneous login can be performed through Remote Desktop, but it is turned off by default. This function needs to be enabled by modifying the registry.
Open the Registry Editor, expand the "HKEY_LOCAL_MacHINESystem
CurrentControlSetControlTerminal ServerLicensing Core" branch, go to the right window, create a new subkey of type DWord, and name the key "EnableConcurrentSessions" and set the key value to "1" to enable multi-user login.
Transferring Files in Remote Desktops
When performing remote desktop operations, it is sometimes cumbersome to transfer files between the remote server and the local computer. In fact, the function of mapping disk is built in the remote desktop program. This function can automatically map the disk of the local computer to the remote server when the server is remotely logged in, making file transfer easier and faster.
In the "Remote Desktop Connector", expand "Options", select the "Local Resources" tab, and check "Disk Drive". After connecting to the remote login to the server, open the "My Computer" of the server, you will find that the local computer's disk and floppy drive, CD-ROM drive are mapped to the server, so that transferring files can be as convenient as operating a local hard disk.
Using shortcut keys in remote desktop
You can use shortcut keys locally. The remote desktop can also be operated easily by shortcut keys. For example: + key can switch the current running program, + key can be used The "Start" menu is displayed, while the ++ key toggles the client between the window and full screen, and the + key displays the Windows menu.
In addition, you can click the "Options" button in the "Remote Desktop Connection" window, in the "Keyboard" column under the "Local Resources" tab, select "Apply Windows Key Combination" to "Remote Computer" on". This will apply all the Windows shortcut operations of the current system to the desktop of the remote computer, making the operation more convenient.
Modify Remote Desktop Connection Port
The default port for Remote Desktop Terminal Service is "3389". To prevent malicious connections from others, you need to change the default port. To open this registry editor, expand the "HKEY_LOCAL_MacHINESYSTEM
CurrentControlSetControlTerminal ServerWdsrdpwdTdstcp" branch, under which the "PortNumber" key value corresponds to the port number, you can modify it. After the above settings are completed, you need to expand the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEM
CurrentControlSetControlTerminal ServerWinStationsRDP-Tcp" branch, and also change the "PortNumber" key value under it.
When the server's remote login port is changed, you can set the connected server address in the local Remote Desktop Connection Program, and then click "Connection Settings → Save As" to export and save the connection file. Then use Notepad to open the exported "*.rdp" file, add the statement "server port:i:port number", save and import the connection. Note that in Windows/"target=_blank>Windows 2000, the ".cns" file is exported. After opening it, find the "Server Port = 3389" statement and change its default "3389" port to be the same as the server.
Install Remote Desktop under the command line
If Remote Desktop Service is not installed on the system, you can use the command line to manually add it. Just open the Command Prompt window and click on the command. Enter the following three lines of commands:
c:>echo [Components] > c:aa
c:>echo TSEnable = on >>c:aa
c:>sysocmgr/i:c:winntinfsysoc.inf /u:c:aa /q /r
After execution, you can complete the installation of the remote desktop program.
