How to implement infrared mobile phone Internet access under Windows2000/XP

Mobile Internet access is a common solution for many laptop users to access the Internet, and infrared access is the most common method. In recent years, the mobile phones produced by the company basically have the built-in MODEM function. Users only need to go to the local telecom business hall to open the data service. (There is a place where the data service is opened by default when opening an account, so there is no need to apply, but the telecom provider At the time, the user must open the data service before it can be used. At present, only China Mobile has this service, and China Unicom has still not opened. After the data service is opened, the notebook can be set up in just a few steps, and the Internet can be connected through 172. The speed is currently 9.6K. Although this number is a bit uncomfortable, it is still used (with sufficient signal stability). It can be dealt with, and in most cases it is not as slow as you think.
The settings for Windows 2000 are slightly different from XP. If your mobile phone has an infrared port, after installing Windows2000, establish a dial-up network connection, open the properties, you will find that Windows2000 has automatically set up a standard infrared port MODEM for you, see the picture:

This MODEM can adapt to many models of mobile phones currently on the market, such as Siemens' 6618, 3618, Ericsson's R520, NOKIA9210, etc., can use this MODEM to directly dial 172 Internet. As for other mobile phones that cannot adapt to this MODEM, you can only install the corresponding driver to use. After installing the corresponding driver, this window will also have the corresponding MODEM to choose. Just like NOKIA7110, you can use it.
The setting of Windows XP is relatively flexible, but it is more complicated to say, which is also related to the enhancement of XP. Although your notebook has a built-in infrared communication port, XP is correctly recognized during installation, but after installing XP, establish a dial-up network connection, click on the properties, you will not find a preset infrared MODEM like Windows2000. Look at the picture:

The original XP management is more intelligent. It only has this MODEM available for selection when an infrared phone is found. Let's see how XP is managed. First open the phone to the infrared to find the infrared communication device on the notebook:

After a few seconds, XP will install the built-in driver for it (if XP does not find the built-in corresponding program) MODEM, you still have to install the corresponding driver, but the XP built-in driver is very rich, almost all mobile phones on the market can be found and installed correctly), is such a communication symbol:

After this stage, XP will install the (temporary) infrared MODEM, otherwise even if XP finds the infrared device, you can't find the infrared MODEM in the dial-up network properties. Look at the picture:

At this point you can use your mobile phone to dial up. When you are not using it, XP will automatically delete this infrared MODEM option after disconnecting the infrared connection. This is the biggest difference between XP and 2000 on infrared mobile Internet. I hope to be helpful.
