Remote Assistance has two methods: "Use Windows Messenger" and "Use Email". This article uses Windows Messenger as an example. Note that this is Windows Messenger instead of MSN Messenger.

It is common to have problems when operating the computer. The computer experts around you naturally become good teachers and helpful friends, but every time they let them go to the door, they are always too unwilling to go. If he sits at his own home, he can serve you. Is it inconvenient to provide help? This is actually a feature in WinXP, its name is "Remote Assistance."

With Remote Assistance, one user (called an "expert") can view the desktop of another user (primary user). Once allowed, experts can even remotely operate the primary user's computer to solve problems remotely.

Prerequisites

1. You and your friends must both use the WinXP operating system.

2. Both users use a Windows Messenger or MAPI-compliant email system, such as MS Outlook or Outlook Express.

3. When using Remote Assistance, both users must be connected to the Internet and have smooth communication.

4. If it is in a company or LAN, the firewall may block remote assistance. In this case, the administrator should be asked to open the corresponding port. For example, some computer remote desktop connection clients only support port 3389.

5. Turn on remote assistance. Right click on the desktop "My Computer", select "Properties", click "Remote" in the "System Properties Window" that opens, check "Allow this computer to send remote assistance invitation" under Remote Assistance, and then click " Ok" exit.
Send Remote Assistance

Click "Start" → "Help and Support" on the helper's computer, click "Invite your friends to connect with your remote assistance" in the "Help and Support Center" Computer" (Figure 1). In the Remote Assistance window that appears, click "Invite someone to help you", then under "Choose how you want to contact your assistant," select "Use Windows Messenger..." and then click "Login" (Figure 2) ). After logging in, you can see online friends, select a friend, and then click "Invite this person". A Remote Assistance web page dialog box will appear (Figure 3).

Start Control Computer

Soon, the author A prompt for friend invitation assistance appears on Windows Messenger. After clicking "Accept", the author's computer starts to try to connect to the friend's computer (Figure 4). After the connection is successful, the friend's desktop appears on the author's computer (as shown in Figure 5). Now click the “Get Control” button. After the other party agrees, the local system of operating the friend is like operating your own system ( As shown in Figure 6), the problem in the friend's computer is solved in three or two.

As mentioned above, in addition to using Windows Messenger, Remote assistance can be requested by email, except that it is slightly different in form (using E-mail to notify the facilitator). Another big difference is that the invitation to send by email is time-limited and requires a connection. Password (Figure 7). Once the password expires or is lost, it cannot be successfully connected.

The remote assistance function can invite friends from Tiannan Haibei to help you solve computer problems, but be careful, you must invite trusted friends to help, otherwise "Don't blame me for not reminding me." Once you find that the other party wants to open a file with privacy, you can immediately press the "ESC" button to cancel its control.
