System grouping taskbar function

If you open multiple applications frequently while using your computer, you should cherish the space on the taskbar. However, no matter how much you browse the web or use office software, it is inevitable to open multiple windows, which will make the Windows XP taskbar full.

Now, Windows XP's grouped taskbar feature puts the same or similar programs in a group, so users can select multiple program windows by clicking on a single window icon. By default, Windows XP will put the first open program in front. However, by adjusting the registry project, we can also optimize this combination.

Run the Registry Editor, expand the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\MICROSOFT\\WINDOWS \\CURRENTVERSION\\EXPLORER\\ADVANCED ] branch, and click the "Edit → New → DWORD Value" command on the menu bar to the DWORD. The value is named "TaskbarGroupSize".

Then double-click to change the key value of the DWORD:

0 - Windows XP will put the oldest open program in front.

1 - Windows XP will put the biggest program in the front.

2 - Windows XP will group two or more windows of the same program.

3 - Windows XP will group three or more windows of the same program.

After setting your own needs, close the Registry Editor and restart your computer, the taskbar will be rearranged and grouped according to your requirements.
